William Randall Covey

William Randall “Randy” Covey, 61 of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation in Richmond, MO surrounded by family.

 

Per Randy’s wishes cremation with no services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shirkey Hospice and Palliative Care or Shirkey Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care.  Memories of Randy and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245.  

 

Randy was born on November 23, 1962, in Hardin, MO to Linda Gayle Lewis.  He attended Hardin School in Hardin, MO.  On February 11, 1978, Randy was united in marriage to Loretta Covey in Hardin, MO and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2002.  Randy married his wife of 20 years, Kelly Covey on May 24, 2003, in Lexington, MO.  Randy worked for Wentworth Military Academy as a Carpenter and Grounds Keeper for 20 years.  After Wentworth closed, he worked for Hughes Dodge Dealership in Higginsville, MO as a car detailer for 5 years before retiring.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Randy enjoyed sitting on his front porch visiting, fishing, hunting, yard sales, collecting scrap metal, and collecting arrowheads.

 

Randy is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kelly (Legate) Covey of Lexington, MO; his mother, Linda Shockley of Lexington, MO; four children, Crystal Schloman (Eric) of Higginsville, MO, Anthony Covey (Lisa) of Hardin, MO, Brad Motley (Amber) of Lexington, MO, Angie Motley of Richmond, MO, and Sarah Campbell (Josh) of Lexington, MO; twelve grandchildren; a sister, Cindy Beal (Mike) of Lexington, MO; a brother, Shannon Estenbaum (Chrisy) of Lexington, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

Randy was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta; a brother, Bruce Covey and a sister-in-law, Terry Covey; and his stepfather, John Shockely
