Michael "Mike" Ray Campbell, 43, of Bates City, Missouri passed away on Friday, September, 21, 2012 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September, 25, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa, MO with Pastor Larry Neil officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September, 24, 2012 at the Church. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, Bates City, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Research Hospital School Of Nursing Oncology Department, Calvary Baptist Church or Concord Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Mike was born on August 20, 1969 in Independence, MO to Carl Duane and Shirley Elaine (Raynes) Campbell. He was a 1987 graduate of the Odessa High School. On March 14, 1992 he married Jill Annette Day in Bates City, MO who survives of the home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bates City. Mike had a passion for music, he loved to play the guitar and banjo. His first time performing on stage was at the age of ten. He started playing for the KC Opry, then playing with Matt and Robyn Rolf, traveling the United States playing county fairs and various festivals. Most recently he played as a band member for the Big Creek Country Show in Pleasant Hill. He served on the Odessa Fire and Rescue Protection District as a firefighter for many years, at different times he held the position as an Officer and also a Captain. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish. Mike was loved by his family and community and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents and wife he is survived by two children, Nathan Campbell of Bates City, MO and Julee Campbell of Bates City, MO; a sister, Janet Alumbaugh and husband Mike of Odessa, MO; two nephews, Brandon and Brent Alumbaugh of Odessa, MO; a mother and father in law, Sharron and Orville Lee Day of Odessa, MO; sister-in-law Gayle Bainbridge and husband Jim of Bates City, MO (Tyler and Adrienne), sister-in-law, Donna Snyder and husband Jim of Odessa, MO (Ashlee and Austin) and a brother-in-law, Mike and Karen Day of Bates City, MO (Garrett and Allyson).
