Walter "Bill" Cretzmeyer

Walter William "Bill" Cretzmeyer, 76, of Lexington passed away at his home April 6, 2021. Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Lexington. Mass of Christian burial will also be on Thursday at the church at 10:30 am. Burial with military honors will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067, 660-259-2245.

Bill was born July 19, 1944 to George and Anna (Arth) Cretzmeyer. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1962 and served in the United States Army. On January 9, 1965 he married Bonnie Myers. She preceded him in death in 1993. Bill then married Sue Hargrave on June 27, 1997. Bill worked as a farmer and a truck driver. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting tractors, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Cretzmeyer of the home; children, Bill (Vanessa) Cretzmeyer of Henrietta, Lori (John) Stratton of Lexington, Lisa (Mark) Smith of Lexington and Lana (Leroy) Guilford of Lexington; sisters, Anna Lindgren of Lee's Summit, Josephine (Albert) Ryun of Dover and Betty (Hugh) Pickell of Lee's Summit; grandchildren, Kelsey (Amber) Medlin, Kasey (Jonathan) Lefholz, Tommy Stratton, Taegon (Justin) McCarroll, Trevor (Mataya) Cretzmeyer, Carli (Justin) Cretzmeyer, Ryli Cretzmeyer, Lexi Smith, Luke Smith, Avery Logsdon and Ella Whelchel; and three great grandchildren with two on the way.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Bonnie Cretzmeyer; grandson, Weston Cretzmeyer; sister, Virginia Flanigan and brother, George Cretzmeyer, Jr.
