Theadore "Ted" Herman Middleton

Theadore “Ted” Herman Middleton, 82, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 28, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Abundant Life Church, 112 W. 23^rd St. S., Independence, MO, 64055.  A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the church.  Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Specialized Home Care-Hospice.  Memories of Ted and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Ted was born on July 20, 1940, in Kanorado, Kansas to Earl Raymond and Esther Mable (Ingram) Middleton.  He retired after 30 plus years from Consolidated Freightways. Ted was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Freight Division. He also was a member of the Shriners and Masons.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Ted was an avid car enthusiast, he loved motorcycles, going on long rides, and playing cards.  Ted also liked to travel and was known to take spur of the moment trips, like the trip from Independence to Maine to have lobster.

Survivors include four children, Misty Jo Huber and husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO, Michael Kent Middleton of Independence, MO, Lisa Michelle Cotton of Independence, MO, and Dollie Rose Simpson and husband George of Grain Valley, MO; one granddaughter, Christy K. Ledford and husband Austin of Odessa, MO; four great grandchildren, Isaiah Johnson, Azryel Walker, Asher Ledford, and Addison Ledford; two sisters, Earlene Powell and husband Clyde of Independence, MO and Martha Hodges of Grain Valley, MO; a sister-in-law, Corrine Middleton of Independence, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candis N. Cotton; a sister, Shirley Flood; and two brothers, Bill Middleton, and Bob Middleton.
