Teresa Edna Kenney, 98, of Lexington passed away June 29, 2022 at Oak Ridge Assisted Living in Richmond. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington with the Rosary at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lexington. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery (Machpelah), Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, the Margaret Gray Senior Center or Shirkey Hospice. Teresa was born April 21, 1924 in Lexington to Eraldo and Alfonsina (Tonetti) Gnotta. She graduated from Lexington High School. Teresa followed in her parents’ footsteps and worked for over 40 years as the manager of the Wentworth Military Academy laundry. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Lexington Garden Club and the Elks Lodge. She was an avid card player and enjoyed Bridge Club and several dance clubs. Teresa loved to cook, especially authentic Italian meals.
On January 5, 1946 she married Clarence Kenney. They were married over 64 years when Clarence passed away in 2010.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Mathiott of Richmond and Jim Kenney and wife Sue of Lexington; grandchildren, Teresa Auxier of Lexington, Stacy (Steve) Breeden of Lexington, Ryan (Kimberly) Kenney of Columbia, Mendy (Joe) Clifford of Warrensburg and Lauren (Jon) Crane of Liberty; and great grandchildren, Maria Breeden, Devyn Auxier, Clayton Breeden, Ashton Auxier, and Lucas, Emerson and Adler Kenney. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Alice Schwab and Mary Bishop-Jenkins.
