Tanya Renee Dowd

James “Jim” Joseph Dowd, 55, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.  

Tanya Renee (Busch) Dowd, 52, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 7, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Jim was born October 17, 1967, in Marysville, Kansas to Chauncey Otto and Sandra Marie (Graham) Dowd. Tanya was born October 30, 1970, to Yveitta (Busch) Klug. Jim graduated from Highland Community College. Tanya graduated from Prairie View in La Cygne, Kansas. Jim and Tanya were united in marriage on March 9, 1990, in Marysville, Kansas. They spent 35 wonderful years together raising a family. They worked for Kohls Distribution Center as material handlers.  If they weren’t both working in the yard, you could always find the both of them spending every minute with their grandchildren. Tanya enjoyed caring for plants, being the top chief in the kitchen. Together they could overcome and accomplish anything together as they were both unstoppable and inseparable.  Jim and Tanya had a love stronger than life.

Jim and Tanya are survived by two children, James Marlin Dowd and wife, Teree of Odessa, MO, and Kristopher Chauncey Dowd and Fiancé, Kaytee Hudnall of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Maleeya Dowd, Ayla Dowd, Chauncey Dowd, and Madalynne Dowd; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Jim is also survived by one sister, Christina Dowd of Kansas; one brother, Kristopher Dowd of Kansas.

Tanya is also survived by her two sisters, Melissa Stelzer of Princeton, KS and Leslee Gibson and husband Chad of Oak Grove, MO; two brothers, Jacob Klug and Dexter Klug.

Jim was preceded in death by both his parents.

Tanya was preceded in death by her husband and mother.
