Steven Allen Singer, 48 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at home following an in the line of duty illness. 

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Odessa High School Football Stadium 713 South 3rd Street Odessa, Missouri 64076. A Celebration of Life with Law Enforcement Honors will follow at 6:00p.m, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Odessa High School Football Stadium. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Jonathan Singer for a charity to be decided at a later date. Memorials may be mailed to the funeral home. Condolences for the family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.

 

Steven was born on August 5, 1975, in Warrensburg, MO to Danny Ray and Donna Phyllis (Likes) Singer.  Steven graduated in 1993 from Sweet Springs R-7 High School in Sweet Springs, MO.  He received his bachelor’s degree in organizational and relational communications from the University of Nebraska.  Steven also received his police training and certification from the Central Missouri Police Academy in Warrensburg, MO.  Steven worked for 16 years as a Deputy for the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and was currently employed as the Chief of Police for Lake Lafayette for the past 20 years and as the Lafayette County Deputy Assessor for the past 8 years. Steven was a caring person, always wanting to serve and protect.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Steven enjoyed camping, grilling, gardening, mowing, and building unique things.  

 

Steven is survived by his fiancée, Athena Amsler of Odessa, MO; five children, Jonathan Singer of Independence, MO, Tyler Singer of Independence, MO, Jordan Singer of Buckner, MO, Amethyst Amsler of Blue Springs, MO, and Shaylah Amsler of Odessa, MO; a granddaughter, Annabel Doss; his mother Phyllis Caldwell of Emma, MO and his father Danny Singer of Odessa, MO; a grandmother, Donna Likes of Odessa, MO; a sister, Alane Lynn of Emma, MO and a brother, Michael Singer of Concordia, MO; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
