Shirley Ann Coon, 86, Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Chris Coon. Shirley was born on November 12, 1935, in Clinton, MO to Jordon and Nellie (Cole) Morgan. She graduated from Deepwater High School. Shirley was united in marriage on December 4, 1954, in Clinton, MO to Carleton “Carl” Coon. She worked for over 50 years for Boatmen’s Bank as head of the Payroll Department. Shirley will be remembered for loving and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Chris of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Deric Coon, Brianna Vandawalker, Cayden Coon and Trystyn Cooper; her two bulldogs, Lela and Willie, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 2014; granddaughter, Britianee Coon; parents; and two sisters, Doris Smith and Betty Kennish.
