Shirley Ladean Childs, of Richmond, Missouri formerly of Lexington, MO passed away on Sunday November 24, 2019 at Ray County Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245. Inurnment will be in the Crown Cemetery in Sedalia, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition. Shirley was born on September 1, 1929 in Sedalia, MO to Paul McKelvey and Margaret (Anthony) McKelvey. She graduated in 1947 from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO. After 35 years of service, Shirley retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an Operator in 1978. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, antique collecting, her animals (many loved over the years), talking politics and watching her beloved Chiefs and Royals play.

Survivors include a brother, Richard Amos and wife Dona of Beaumont, CA; two nieces, Sarah Amos and husband Jerry Manos of San Mateo, CA and Meredith Glaser and husband Greg of Sun Valley, CA; three great nieces, Morgan Scheppler and husband Kyle of San Mateo, CA, Brigit Manos of San Carlos, CA and Meaghan Manos of North Hollywood, CA; and two great-great nephews, Conway Scheppler of San Mateo, CA and Arlen Glaser of San Frisco, CA.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Paul McKelvey, mother and step-father, Margaret and Lowell Amos; and a very dear friend, Mary Ault.
