Sharron Gae Heathman

October 16, 1939 — January 2, 2021

The Reverend Sharron Gae Heathman, Deacon of Christ Episcopal Church, passed away January 2, 2021 at her home in Lexington. She was 81. A funeral service will be Friday, January 8, 2021 at 12:30 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, Lexington. Visitation will also be Friday at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington from 11:00 am until noon. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington. Memorials may be made to the church. Sharron was born October 16, 1939 in Lexington to John and Ellen (Grechus) Jenkins. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1958. She was a life long member of Christ Episcopal Church and served as a Deacon. On August 11, 1965 she married Dawson Heathman in Lexington. He preceded her in death in 2018. Sharron worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant as an Employee Retention Specialist. She was past president of the American Business Women’s Association and served in many roles with the Higginsville Country Club. Sharron was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sterling Price Chapter, the National Daughters of the American Revolution, Lafayette Lexington Chapter and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her children, Lori Bitter and husband Dwain of Napa, CA, Shannon Heathman of Higginsville and Dirk Heathman of Kansas City; grandchildren, Ashley Mercier, Kate Bitter, Molly McMillan, Travis Gibson, Shayna Heathman, Payton Heathman, Brailyn Heathman, Drake Heathman and Averee Heathman; six great grandchildren; and a brother Robert Jenkins of Lexington. Sharron was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Russell McMillan; and brother John Jenkins, III.
