Rosie was born in Lexington, Missouri, on November 23, 1947, to George Edward and Dora Mae (Johnson) Brooks. Rose graduated in 1966 from Lexington High School. Rosie achieved a Dental Assistant Certificate in 1969 and a certificate in Sew In Floors at Hawthorne Division of the Kellwood Company. She worked in manufacturing most of her life and was a very hard worker.  She often times carried multiple jobs to support the family.  She was most proud of her position as a supervisor at Bailey Corporation in Berger, MO. The last position she held was as manufacturing worker at Harman Becker in Washington, MO from 2006 until her retirement in 2012.   Rose was united in marriage to Steve Sherman on August 29, 2003, in Union, Missouri. Rose attended St. Ann Catholic Church.

Dancing brought joy to Rose's life, and she was an avid participant in square dancing with the Happy Promenader's group.  She also loved 60’s sock hop style partner dancing.

When Rose wasn't found dancing, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, had a green thumb for gardening, home style cooking, sewing, and doting on her cherished Yorkshire Terrier, Belle.

Rose is survived by her husband, Steve Sherman; two daughters, Crystal Eggers and husband Tim of Washington, MO, and Angela Schlegel of Union, MO; four grandchildren, Amanda Morton and husband Logan of Boston, MA, Douglas Eggers and special friend Erica Huber of Washington, MO, Elle Eggers of Columbia, MO, and Jacqueline Schlegel of St. Peters, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Along with both parents, Rose was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Albert Brooks, and sister, Wanda Mae Brown.
