Ronald “Ron” Dwayne Rector, 61, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri.

 

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1312 Franklin Ave., Lexington, MO, 64067.  A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023, at the church.  Interment will be in Higginsville City Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Jennifer Soendker for a future Rector Family Minutemen Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Memories of Ron and condolences for the family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245.   

 

Ronald was born May 5, 1962, in Lexington, to Gilbert “Gil” Wayne and Edithe “Edie” Darlene (Luehrs) Rector.  He graduated in 1981 from Lexington High School.  After high school Ron attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.  He was Catholic by faith.  Ron retired from the Higginsville Habilitation Center after 28 years of service as an employee of the Direct Care-Crisis Unit.  He loved studying history, geography, and the Catholic Religion.  Ron was an avid Minutemen and Mizzou fan and supporter.  He had the privilege of being a part of the 1980 Minutemen State Championship Football Team. 

 

Ron is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Edithe Rector of Lexington, MO; a twin brother, Donald “Don” Rector of Lexington, MO; two sisters, Jeanne Meierer (Todd) and Jennifer Soendker (Kirk), both of Lexington, MO; many cousins, including Kerry Boyd (Joe) and Jim Rector; nieces and nephews, Kayla Gibson (Jeremy), Lindsay Rector, Katie Bertz, Holly Crabtree (Amanda), Collin Rector, Colby Crabtree, Cole Rector, Brody Soendker, and Conner Soendker; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends. 

 

Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert “Boots” and Verna Rector; and his maternal grandparents, Edward Luehrs, Mary Katherine and Irvin Kleinschmidt.
