Romie Alex Haley, Jr., 66 of Hardin, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home. Romie was born on September 6, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to Romie A. Haley, Sr. and Pauline Cora (Delaney) Haley. He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, MO. On January 13, 1977 he married Kitty E. (Creason) Haley in Kansas City. Romie retired after 28 years from R&D Chemical in Kansas City. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Romie enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include Romie’s wife, Kitty Haley of Hardin, MO; two children, Misty Smith and husband Nathan of Keokuk, IA, and Romie A. Haley, III and wife Juanita of Concordia, MO; two grandchildren, Carson and Hunter Haley; a brother, Alvie Merritt and wife Yi of Kansas City, MO.
In addition to his parents, Romie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexzandria Smith and a sister, Claudia Merritt.
