Bob was born on February 11, 1940, ¼ mile southwest of Odessa, MO to Charles and Florence (Peacock) Green. Odessa ran in Bob’s blood - he was raised in Odessa, graduated from Odessa High School in 1957, and spent his whole life as a faithful and dear member of the Odessa community. On August 26, 1960, Bob married Sharen Edwards at the Methodist Church in Odessa, MO. While building the home they currently live in, he worked for Rabius Construction building homes locally. Bob started his first business as co-owner and laborer at Day-Green Concrete, where one of their jobs was pouring curbing for the town of Odessa. He went on to work several other jobs before becoming a backhoe operator for B.F. Sanders. When Mr. Sanders retired, Bob and Sharen bought his backhoe and trencher to start Green’s Backhoe and Trenching. Bob also farmed land around the area and raised cattle and hogs. In 2002, he retired to spend more time doing the things he enjoyed.

Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. Annual hunting trips to Nebraska and fishing trips to the lake were something Bob did every chance he got. In his younger years, he enjoyed building and raced go karts. He was also a member of the Show Me Motorcycle Club in 1965 when he, Sharen and 22 other local riders traveled on their Harleys to Sturgis, SD. Later in life, Bob traded his motorcycle in for a 5th wheel camper, to spend time traveling the state and country with Sharen, visiting beloved family, and continued fishing whenever he could. He was a member of the New Horizon Presbyterian Church and served on session. He was a dedicated, hard working man that loved God, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandson.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharen Green of Odessa, MO; a son, Rex Green; two granddaughters, Heather (Green) Witthar and husband Bill of Blue Springs, MO and Jaclynn “Jaci” Green and significant other, Dakota Proctor of Independence, MO; one grandson, Logan Green and significant other Allyson Day of Odessa, MO; a great-grandson, Brayden Kirk of Blue Springs, MO; and many relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brother-in-laws, a daughter, Robin Green, and a grandson, Arron Green-Specker.
