Reverend Sandra Kay (McFerrin) Feeler, 78 of Mayview, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 12507 Mt. Tabor Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076. Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Tabor Cemetery Association or the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Sandra was born on March 10, 1944, in Odessa to Lee Bryon and Annie Evelyn (Hook) McFerrin. She graduated in 1961 from Odessa High School and earned her master’s degree in English and History from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. Sandra taught school in Ellington, Odessa, Kingsville and Centerview. She then went to work for the American Red Cross and eventually became the Director of Disaster Services. Sandy felt called to serve as a child while at Camp Galilee, and in the early 2000’s began Seminary at St. Paul’s School of Theology, graduating in 2004. She was then appointed as the minister of the Eldorado United Methodist Church in Greenridge, MO. Upon retiring in 2010, she continued to minister to family and friends, and anyone else she could assist. On June 15, 1963, she married Delmar Lloyd Feeler at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. They have enjoyed 58 almost 59 wonderful years together. In addition to spending time with family, Sandra was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bird watching and fishing, but most of all spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Delmar Feeler of Mayview, MO; three children, Leesha Dunkeson and husband Perry of Warrensburg, MO, Craig Feeler and wife Chris of Independence, MO, and Brad Feeler and significant other, Jamie Long of Odessa, MO; ten grandchildren, Levi Dunkeson and wife Jordan, Emily Dunkeson, Kyle Handshy, Alex Chamberlain, Kyle Feeler, Taylor Handshy, Carly Benard and husband Noah, Jade Feeler, Derrick Feeler and wife Kaitlin, and Taylor McClendon and husband Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Jaycee, Laiklynn, Jeffrey, Presley, Layne, and Irelynn; one brother, Larry McFerrin of Raytown, MO; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by a brother, James McFerrin.
