Raymond Oliver Burkhart

Raymond Burkhart, died on Saturday, January 31, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, Mo. Funeral Services for Raymond Oliver Burkhart, 87 of Odessa, will be held on Wednesday, February 4th at 11:00 AM at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, Odessa. Mo. Visitation will be held on February 3rd at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in the Trotter Cemetery, Carrollton, Mo.

Raymond Oliver Burkhart was born on December 2, 1927 at Carrolton, MO to Gilbert and Beulah Barker Burkhart. He married Melva Schalpia in Kansas. He later married Mildred L. Shipley on September 3, 1953 in Oklahoma. Raymond had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the road construction business and farmer.

He is survived by his children, Linda & Bob Hardwick, Odessa, Larry and Jean Burkhart, Urbana, Mo; Ronnie and Linda Burkhart, Mayview, Mo; Helen Clay, Odessa, Mo; Steven Burkhart, Kansas City, MO; David and Rose Burkhart, Vista, Mo; and Lora and Steve Bowman, Odessa. There are 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Eva Marie Whiting, Independence, MO. Preceding Raymond in death are his parents, wife, Mildred, a daughter, Carol Tokarske, a grandson, Roger Burkhart, a great great grandson, Kinta Carty, Jr; 6 brothers, Harold, Joe, Ray, Roy, Edgar, George; 3 sisters Velma, Doris and Jean.
