Ryland B. Sims Ryland B. Sims, 83, of Lexington, MO passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his home. Ryland B. Sims was born December 2, 1926 in Independence, MO. the son of John and Gertha McCorkendale Sims. He married Doris Orendor, January 12, 1946. Mr. Sims was a carpenter for Patterson Co. in Independence, Mo. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington, the Carpenters Union, American Legion, V.F.W. Post 4052, and served as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 318. He was an Army Veteran of WW II. Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home. Five children, Jonna Spencer and husband, Kenneth, of Hardin, MO, Ronald Sims and wife, Donna, Lexington, Sherilyn Braden and husband, Bob, Lexington, Steven Sims and wife, Susan, Lexington, and Shelley Maze and husband, Bobby, of Lexington. There are 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David, and a sister, Jonna L. Clark. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. Burial in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Preferred Hospice, or family choice.
