Norman Alfred Brodeur

Norman Alfred Brodeuer, 85, of Odessa, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Research Medical Center.

Services to honor his life will be held starting with a Rosary at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 19, 2026, followed by visitation from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. at St. George Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will follow immediately at 10:30a.m. at St. George Catholic Church, 716 S 3rd St., Odessa, Missouri. Rite of Committal with military honors will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Angela Brodeur, 5097 Gillen Road, Odessa, Missouri 64067. Norman was born on August 13, 1941, in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Norman Louis and Vernadette Beatrice (Lapierre) Brodeur. After graduating from Chicopee High School, Norman honorably served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. His commitment to service was reflected not only in his military career but also in his involvement within his local community. On September 4, 1964, he was united in marriage to Melba Faye (Houser) Brodeur in London, England. Norman was a faithful member of St. George Catholic Church in Odessa, where he actively participated in the life of the parish. Norman was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the board of the Odessa Fire Department, where he made many lasting friendships. His passions extended beyond service; he found joy in watching baseball and football games, and in his younger days, he enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling. Above all, Norman adored spending time with his family.

Norman is survived by his wife, Melba “Faye” Brodeur of the home; one child, Chris (Angela) Brodeur of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Ryan (Morgan) Brodeur, Nickolas Brodeur, Madisen Brodeur, and Dylan Brodeur; one great-grandchild, Jaelynn Brodeur; two sisters, Gale (Carl) Limberg, Sylvia Menard and sister-in-law Cozette Brodeur and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Along with both his parents, Norman was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Brodeur.
