Lura Kathlyn Hearn

Lura "Kathlyn" Hearn, 91, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on February 28, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa. Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO with minister Greg Ziegler officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, (816) 633-5524. Memorials are suggested to the Odessa Church of Christ Building Fund. Kathlyn was born on February 12, 1921 in Folsomdale, Kentucky to Rex and Mattie Lura (Pryor) Shemwell. Kathlyn spent her childhood in Melber, KY where she graduated high school. On December 12, 1941 she married Guy Beuford Hearn who preceded her in death on November 29, 2008. Kathlyn spent her life as a homemaker taking care of her family. She loved sewing, reading, cooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her three children, Rexeen Frazier of Clermont, Flordia, Ann Knight and husband Cecil of Odessa, MO and Jim Hearn and wife Jan of Reidsville, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Rob and Brett Frazier, Andy and Kevin Knight, Jennifer Hannel, Travis and Jessica Hearn, Cindy Irvin and Tom Stanley; seventeen great-grandchildren and a Sister, Marjorie Story of San Angelo, Texas. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, John David Hearn; a brother, James Lee Shemwell and a sister, Martha Phillips.
