Nancy was born on August 3, 1948, in Lexington, Missouri, to Ralph Joseph and Mary Isabella (Nelson) Orendor. She lived her life grounded in faith, rooted in her community, and guided by a deep love for God that shaped the way she loved others—forming lasting friendships and touching countless lives with her kindness and gentle spirit.
Nancy’s relationship with God was the foundation of everything she was. She loved Him deeply and devoted her life to serving Him—not only in word, but in action. As a faithful and devoted member of Presbyterian Disciples Church, she leaned on her faith in every season of life and shared that faith freely through encouragement, compassion, and quiet strength.
She worked for many years at Whitaker Cable Company and later at Wentworth Military Academy, where she served others in the kitchen. In every role, Nancy carried a servant’s heart—serving not just people, but serving God through the way she cared for those around her. Whether through a warm meal, a listening ear, or her calming presence, she reflected His love in everyday moments.
Nancy had a joyful soul that radiated the light within her. She loved music and loved to dance, finding joy in the simple blessings God placed in her life. Nothing captured her spirit better than dancing to her favorite song, “Wipeout.” When those familiar beats played, Nancy would light up the room—smiling, laughing, and dancing with a joy that was contagious and uplifting to everyone around her.
More than anything, Nancy’s greatest calling was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother who gave selflessly, and a proud grandmother who found deep joy in the lives of her grandchildren. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely—more than most could ever express—and made sure they always knew they were deeply loved and covered in prayer. Her love was constant, faithful, and rooted in the same unconditional love she knew from God.
Nancy is survived by her children, Ryan Wayne Whitesitt and his wife, Cynthia, of Indianola, Iowa, and Sharin Faith Whitesitt and her fiancé, Daniel, of Dallas, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel Catherine Whitesitt of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Lauren Cynthia Whitesitt and Dahlia Lynn McCleskey-Whitesitt, both of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Margie Good and her husband, Frank, of Lexington, Missouri; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed by her life and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Doris Sims and Darlene Jennings; and her brothers, Gerry Orendor, Victor Orendor, and Jimmy Orendor, all of whom she is now reunited with in the presence of the Lord.
Nancy will be remembered for the way she lived out her faith every day—for the love she gave so freely, the joy she brought into every room, and the way she made others feel seen, valued, and cared for. Her servant’s heart, her unwavering devotion to God, and her deep, abiding love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
