Minnie Belle Schmidt

Minnie Belle (Robbins) Schmidt, 87 of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at her residence.

 A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2^nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery.

Minnie was born on September 11, 1936, in Odessa, Missouri to Harold Franklin and Bonnie Frances (Lingle) Robbins. Minnie graduated from Wellington High School. She later received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from CMSU. Minnie taught at Raytown School System where she retired after 30 years. Minnie was united in marriage on November 24, 1956, to Charles Ray Schmidt at the Baptist Church in Odessa, Missouri. Minnie and Charles had a love for flipping cars/houses and listening to country music together. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2002. Minnie is an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of Raytown Beta Kappa Gamma and Missouri State Teachers Association. Minnie was an avid Chiefs fan. Along with spending time with family and friends, Minnie enjoyed knitting, ceramics, quilting, and had a green thumb for gardening. 

Minnie is survived by three sisters-in-law, Nancy Flynn, Bernice Gann, and Betty Jo Forbes; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Along with both parents and her husband, Minnie was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jean Ring, Wyota Kite, and Mary Jane Ellis; and one brother, James Robbins.
