Michele Blackwell-Brooks, 55, of Lee’s Summit, formerly of Lexington, passed away March 19, 2019 at St. Luke’s Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Memorial service will be Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 4:00 pm at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. Visitation will also be on Saturday at the funeral home from 3:00 until 4:00 pm. Memories of Michele and condolences for the family may be left at www.nadlerfullerfh.com. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Jesse Brooks.

Michele was born May 11, 1963 in Eudora, Arkansas to Dennis and Frances (Philley) Markley. She graduated from Waynesville High School, Waynesville, Missouri. On March 27, 1998 she married Jesse Brooks in Independence. She was a Catholic. She worked at Kay Jewelers in Independence for 15 years before retiring. She loved spending time with family and friends. Michele was an avid reader. She had a passion for music, enjoyed going to the lake and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Michele is survived by her husband, of the home; children, Jay Heimer and wife Elizabeth of Lexington and Nicole Burch and husband Michael of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren, Charleigh Heimer, Adalyn Burch, Winnie Burch, Cameron Lillard, Kennedy Lillard, Ben Lillard and Noah Brown; brothers, Carl Markley of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Markley of Hoskins, Missouri, and Nicholas Markley and wife Carrie of Lee’s Summit; and sisters, Denise Welch of Lexington, Victoria Smith and husband Mark of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Melissa Markley of Lee’s Summit. She was preceded in death by her parents.
