Mary L. (Beretta) Grechus, 102 passed away on June 7, 2022 at her home in Lexington, Missouri.

 

The Rosary will be prayed Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington.  Visitation will follow on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 2:30 until 4:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Higginsville. Interment will be in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Lexington, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Higginsville or Immaculate Conception Altar Society, Lexington.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO  64067, 660-259-2245.

 

Mary Beretta was born in Lexington on January 13, 1920.  She married James W. Grechus, Sr. on March 5, 1938.  He preceded her in death on February 7, 2000.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Higginsville, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Lexington, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Higginsville and Immaculate Conception Altar Society, Lexington.  Mary was also a charter member VFW Auxiliary.  Mary enjoyed cooking, shopping, fishing, mushroom hunting, going to casinos and spending time with her family.

 

Mary is survived by her three children, Carol and Bill Summerlin of Lexington, Joyce Harrison of Overland Park, Kansas and James W. Grechus, Jr. of St. Joseph, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Mark and Kristin Summerlin, Marcia and Tim Swartz, Matt and Penny Summerlin, Monte and Traci Summerlin, Sabra and Brian Eads, Kirk and Michelle Harrison, Alicia and Shel Nevels, Sara Harrison, Jason and Kelly Harrison and Jenny Grechus.  Mary had 28 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.  Mary is also survived by a sister, Alice and Lee Summerlin of Lexington and a sister-in-law, Wanda Beretta of Texas.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Beretta; sister, Caroline Crowe; daughter-in-law, Deborah (Wright) Grechus; and four brothers, Joe, Johnny, Rudy and Gilbert Beretta.
