Linda was born on January 19, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Merle and Marjorie (Clark) Teeter. She graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1968 and later earned a business degree from Platte College in St. Joseph. On October 26, 1968, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Ray Carter in Pattonsburg, Missouri. In the early 70s, Jeff and Linda moved to Lexington, Missouri, where they made their home. Linda was welcomed to town by her sisters in Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She dedicated more than 30 years to Don Wood, C.P.A. in Lexington, where she worked as a bookkeeper before retiring.

Linda found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and friends. She took great pride in her beautiful flowers and meticulously cared-for yard and especially enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. An avid reader, Linda could always be found curled up with a good book. Above all, she cherished her family, and nothing brought her more happiness than the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Jeff and Linda spent nearly three decades supporting their boys at every baseball field, football field, gym and fieldhouse in a two-hundred-mile radius. Later, they showed the same dedication to their grandchildren as they became involved in various activities.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Jeffrey Carter of Lexington, Missouri; her three children, Bryan (Stephanie) Carter of Lexington, Missouri, Cole (Shannon) Carter of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Trent (Tina) Carter of Lawrence, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Bailey Carter, Zachary Carter, Wade Carter, Katy Carter, Taegan Clark, Gracie Carter, Ford Carter, and Isla Carter; her sisters-in-law, Lynne Teeter of Liberty, Missouri, Renee Chambers of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Denise Mounts of Joplin, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Marjorie Teeter, and her brother, Mike Teeter.
