Kenneth “Ken” Lee Fricke, 82, of Corder, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Centerpoint Medical Center, surrounded by family.
A committal service with military honors will be held at 10:00a.m., Friday November 13, 2026 at Higginsville Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Cemetery. Memories of Ken and condolences for his family may be shared at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on the funeral home's Facebook page. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524.
Ken was born on May 20, 1944, in Mayview, Missouri, to Herbert Herman and Lucy Marie (Nolte) Fricke. He grew up in the Corder area and graduated from Corder High School in 1962. Ken was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Ken proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army from June 4, 1969, to March 8, 1971. His dedication to his country and fellow veterans continued through his membership in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4288.
Ken had a lifelong appreciation for tractors, automobiles, and all things mechanical. He enjoyed spending time tinkering with tractors, working on mechanical projects, and adding to his collection of model cars and tractors. Farming was more than an occupation to him; it was a way of life and a passion deeply rooted in who he was. He had a particular fondness for classic muscle cars and appreciated the craftsmanship and mechanics behind them. Whether working with his hands or admiring a favorite vehicle, Ken found enjoyment in the simple things that brought him happiness.
Ken is survived by his cousins, along with other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lucy Fricke; and his brother, Ronald Fricke.
