Judy Mae (Delana) McDowell, 75, of Lexington, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

 

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, Missouri, 64067. At the funeral home, a farewell service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to Lex-Ray Technical Center for the Career and Technical Student Organizations or the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition. Judy was born November 16, 1948, in Dover, Missouri, to John and Dolly (Hostetter) Delana. Judy graduated from Wellington-Napoleon High School in 1966.

Judy was united in marriage on November 19, 1966, to James A. McDowell Jr. in Nowata, Oklahoma. Jim preceded her in death on August 15, 2018. Judy was a member of the Wellington Baptist Church. After working for Maid-Rite from her teens to 1985, Judy tended and cared for the home and her family. As a dedicated homemaker, Judy enjoyed canning, baking, and cooking and would have tea and a sweet treat ready when anyone stopped by. Judy dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming home for her family and friends. Along with spending time with her family and friends, Judy enjoyed collecting magnets and rocks from all the places she traveled.  

 

Judy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Bergsieker of Lexington, Missouri; four grandchildren, Maddy Lynn, Mason Andrew, Max Alexander, and Mattson Dale; two brothers, Anthony Delana of Springfield, Missouri and Ronald Delana of Chilhowee, Missouri, and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

 

Along with her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by three sisters, Glenda Cooper, Annette Delana, and Dolly Ann Delana; four brothers, Jerry Delana, John Delana, Tex Delana, and Thomas Delana.
