Johnny was born on February 19, 1939, in Ash Flat, Arkansas, to Hazel and Nannie (Watson) Adams. On October 19, 1957, he married the love of his life, Doris Joan (Cochran) Adams, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, faith, and cherished memories.
Johnny was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent 30 years working on the assembly line at General Motors before retiring. He took pride in his work and carried that same dedication into the many things he enjoyed throughout his life. A faithful and active member of the Church of Christ, Johnny's faith was an important part of who he was and how he lived.
Johnny had a special love for horses and found great joy in raising and riding them. He was also skilled at welding and had a lifelong appreciation for cars, especially the excitement of drag racing. Whether he was working on a project, enjoying a good race, or cheering on his favorite college sports teams, Johnny embraced the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family. The memories made together, the stories shared, and the love he gave will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Johnny leaves behind his loving daughter, Lisa (Gary) Adams of Odessa, MO; two cherished grandchildren, Courtney (Scott) Brown and Chase (Krysta) Small; and five beloved great-grandchildren, Kamden, Kaysen, Cainen, Cruz, and Sebatian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
Johnny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Joan Adams; his parents, Hazel and Nannie Adams; his son, Mike Adams; his sister, JoAnn Kelton; and his three brothers, Golman Adams, Norman Adams, and Tom Adams.
Johnny will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, his faithful heart, and the many interests that made his life so meaningful. Though he will be deeply missed, his family will find comfort in the memories they shared, the love he leaves behind, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever be treasured by those who loved him.
