John was born on March 3, 1963, in Independence, MO to George O. Robinson, Sr. and Margaret Ann (Sanders) Robinson. He graduated from Fort Osage High School and earned his certification in printing from the Fort Osage Career and Technical Center. On April 16, 1983, John married his high school sweetheart, Julie Ann May in Independence, MO at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. John and Julie created a wonderful life together always saying they were “each other’s person”. There wasn’t a day that went by that they would tell each other “I love you so muchie and the mostest, every day, all the time, forever and ever, amen”. John was an accomplished pressman in the printing industry working 20 plus years for Champion Graphics in Kansas City, MO. After leaving the printing world, John put his talent as a handyman and a man who could fix anything to work. He and his son-in-law Travis spent many hours together completing honey-do lists and DIY projects. As John would say he loved to “putter around” in his man cave (shop). Just as he was in his work, it showed in his shop, everything had a spot and was meticulously organized, except when Julie and her friends would play jokes on John and move tools around to get his blood pressure up. John and Julie, being high school sweethearts, had many mutual friends in high school and to this day they still maintain those relationships. He was a member of the Blue Springs Elks Lodge 2509 and loved his Elk brothers. In addition to spending time with family and friends, John loved supporting his grandsons, Hudson and Hayes. John loved baseball and enjoyed watching both his grandsons on the baseball field. On weekends you could always find John at the ballfield watching Hudson play baseball and spending time with Hayes while watching the game. He also never missed a karate belt testing for Hayes. If he wasn’t at a baseball game or karate testing, you could find him fishing or puttering outside. John was a man who loved big and worked hard. His favorite acronym was MTPSHH, (Mental Toughness, Physical Strength, Humble and Hard).
John is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Julie Robinson of Napoleon, MO; daughter, Janae Davenport and husband Travis of Grain Valley, MO; two grandsons, Hudson Davenport and Hayes Davenport; sister, Jeannie Summers and husband Ron of Independence, MO; two brothers, George O. Robinson, Jr. and wife Anita of Carbondale, CO and Marty Robinson and wife Donna of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was LOVED by many!!!
John was preceded in death by his parents.
