Joan Aileene Bere

Joan Aileene (Ryun) Bere, 80, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Riverbend nursing facility in Lexington, MO.

A family hosted graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Dover cemetery in Dover, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the Good Shepherd Hospice. Joan was born on September 17, 1942, in Dover, MO to Orville and Gracie (Keith) Ryun. She received her GED. Joan worked as a cook and hotel manager. She was united in marriage to Donald Thomas Bere.  He preceded her in death. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Joan enjoyed cooking, fishing and had a green thumb.

Joan is survived by three children, Rebecca Markley, Steve Markley, and Jacque Wiskur and husband Jim; one stepdaughter, Brandy Roy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Norma Dean Benedick, two brothers, Jerry Ryun and Arnold Ryun and many relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by one child, Angie Markley; two sisters, Mildred Fales, and Lois Faye Frikken; and one brother, Richard Ryun.
