James Dale Miller

February 28, 1935 — April 1, 2019

James “Jim” Dale Miller, 84 of Mayview, MO passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at home.

The family will host a graveside Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m., Monday April 8, 2019 at the Odessa Cemetery. Everyone is invited to the Mayview First Baptist Church, 109 Marshall St., Mayview, MO, 64071, for a lunch and to fellowship with Jim’s family following the graveside service. Memorials are suggested to the Mayview First Baptist Church. Memories of Jim and condolences for his family may be left at www.ralphojones.com or on our Facebook page. Cremation has been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076.

Jim was born on February 28, 1935 in Fairfax, MO to William Roy and Onetta (Hargis) Miller. In 1953 Jim married Betty Lou (Claunch) Miller in Arkansas. On November 30, 2003 she preceded him in death. Jim retired after 35 years from Sprint Telephone in Odessa, MO. He was a member of the Mayview First Baptist Church. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his dogs.

Survivors include three sons, James E. Miller and wife Audrey of Odessa, MO, Dennis R. Miller and wife Shelly of Gladstone, MO and Steven L. Miller of Odessa, MO; a companion, Wanda McCormick of Mayview, MO; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister Jane Brinkley and husband Frank of Jerome, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In additon to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
