James Robert Hines

James Robert Hines, 48, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by family and friends.   

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2^nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery.

James was born July 4, 1975, in Iowa City, IA to Lester Phillip “Phil” and Beverly A. (Battin) Hines. He graduated from Holden High School in 1993 and attended Vatterott College receiving his HVAC Degree.  He was united in marriage to Stephanie Darnell on December 24, 1998.  They later divorced but remained friends.  He owned and operated 7 Arrows Heating & Cooling and was a proud member of the Better Business Bureau.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, James was a family man and enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren, traveling, fishing, listening to Garth Brooks and was an avid KU fan. 

James is survived by his fiancée, Alicia Turner; his mother, Beverly A. Hines of Concordia, MO; five children, Kailee (Jacob) Husemann of Lexington, MO, Lacey (Mark) Hilden of Alma, MO, Abigail Hines of Kansas City, MO, Alexis Supitilov (Caleb Slater) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Bryce Supitilov of Odessa, MO; eleven grandchildren, Isabelle Whitley, Rene Hilden, Isaiah Husemann, Ronin Hilden, Kynsley Hines, Karsyn Husemann, Ryker Hines, Emmalee Husemann, Morgan Hilden, and Waylon Hines; three sisters, Jennifer Swan of Jefferson City, MO, Melissa Apel of Moberly, MO, Loryn (Jormel) Burks of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Scott (Jeanette) Rice  Ashland, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Apel.
