James Joseph Dowd

James “Jim” Joseph Dowd, 55, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

Jim was born October 17, 1967, in Marysville, Kansas to Chauncey Otto and Sandra Marie (Graham) Dowd. Jim graduated from Highland Community College. Jim was united in marriage to Tanya R. (Busch) Dowd on March 9, 1990, in Marysville, Kansas. They spent 35 wonderful years together raising a family. He worked for Kohls Distribution Center as a material handler for two years. If Jim wasn’t working in the yard, you could always find him spending every minute with his grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife, Tanya R. Dowd; two children, James Marlin Dowd and wife, Teree of Odessa, MO, and Kristopher Chauncey Dowd and Fiancé, Kaytee Hudnall of Odessa, MO; four grandchildren, Maleeya Dowd, Ayla Dowd, Chauncey Dowd, and Madalynne Dowd; one sister, Christina Dowd of Kansas; one brother, Kristopher Dowd of Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, relative, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by both his parents.
