Irene Gertrude Marasch

Irene Gertrude Marasch, age 92, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, WI.
She was born July 27, 1929, in Killdeer, ND to Leonard & Cora (Adams) Eggert. She graduated from Odessa H.S. in 1947. She went on to become a registered nurse for 40 years. On October 25, 1951, she married Elmer Marasch at her home in Odessa. They moved to WI and raised their 2 daughters. In 1970 they moved back to Odessa where they enjoyed another 34 years together til Elmer's passing in 2004. Irene resided another 13 years at the Odessa senior apartments until she returned to WI. Together her and Elmer enjoyed gardening and auctions. Irene also enjoyed reading, baking, sewing, & numerous other crafts. Her passion was doing genealogy.
Survivors include two daughters; Judy (Tom) Douglas, New London, WI, Janice Marasch (special friend Pete Andersen) Lawson MO; two grandchildren; Tommy Douglas, Appleton, WI, Tara Douglas, Omro, WI; four great-grandchildren; Destiny Douglas (Fiancé Nic Burton), Brianna Bork, Damion Blohm, Justice Blohm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents & husband, Irene was preceded in death by two brothers; Glenn Eggert & Earl Eggert, two sisters; Myrtle Dillon & Betty Odell, all of Odessa, MO & three grandchildren; Tanya (Douglas) Otto, Zachary LaTessa & Jason Marasch-Bright.
A visitation for Irene will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Community of Christ Church, 515 South 1st Street, Odessa, MO, 64076. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community of Christ Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ralph O.
