Hubert Franklin Martin

Hubert Martin, 95, passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at CenterPoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.  

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home. Inurnment will immediately follow at Machpelah Cemetery, 900 S. 20th St. Lexington, MO 64067. Memorials are suggested to Connie Hildreth to be used for immediate needs of Lexington school children, a passion of Hubert's, of which he cared for deeply. Hubert was born on December 18, 1927, in Paris, Arkansas to John Christopher and Flossie Mae (Musick) Martin. Hubert was united in marriage to Helen Orene (Winningham) Martin on May 1, 1948, in Lexington, Missouri. She preceded him in death April 13, 2017. Hubert worked for General Motors in Fairfax, Kansas for 43.7 years. He was a member of UAW Local 31. Hubert's love and dedication to his family was so incredibly strong, that his grandchildren, and great grandchildren looked to him as a father figure.  

Hubert is survived by three children, Tom (Rosemary) Martin of Blue Springs, MO, Darlene Crockett of Blue Springs, MO, and Connie (Greg) Hildreth of Lexington, MO; seven grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Horstman, Chad Horstman, Sarah (Seth) Gilman, Sean Crockett, Amanda Woodward, Aaron (Jennifer) Stacy and Bryon (Debbie) Stacy; sister-in-law, Gloria Winningham; 12 great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Hubert was preceded in death by both his parents; brothers Raymond, Cleo, Albert, Glen, Junior, and J.W.; sisters Marie, Mildred, Lois, Betty, and Emma; and brother-in-law, Preston Winningham.
