Harold Gordon Anderson

Harold Gordon Anderson, 89, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab in Oak Grove, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. OO Highway, Odessa, MO, 64076. Burial will be at the Odessa Cemetery. Harold was born on June 12, 1929 in Eskridge, Kansas to Harold Gibbs Anderson, Sr. and Thera G. (Callen) Anderson. He graduated in 1947 from Odessa High School in Odessa, MO. On November 8, 1952 he married Dorothy (Fiene) Anderson and she preceded him in death on January 3, 1993. On August 17, 1996, Harold married Ida Mae (Browning) Anderson in Odessa, MO. She survives of the home.
Survivors include Harold’s wife, Ida Mae Anderson of Odessa, MO; a daughter Sharon Taggart and husband Steve of Odessa, MO; two step-children, Jamie Nettleton and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, OK and Chris Reed and wife Chayo of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren, John Stewart and wife Stephanie of Fredericksburg, VA and Crystal Kusick and husband Jason of Grain Valley, MO; 8 step-grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Douthit of Derby, KS and Shirley Rail of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Harold was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Clark.
Master Chief Petty Officer Harold Anderson was a career Navy man, serving 23 years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church, Odessa. He is a life member of the Fleet Reserve Association, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also an Odessa Alderman and served on several boards and committees.
