Glenda Pearline Jones

Glenda Pearline (Stiverson) Jones, 72 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. 

 

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 100 W. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076.  A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the church.  Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.  Memorials are suggested to the ASPCA or Wounded Warrior Project.  Memories of Glenda and condolences for her family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Glenda was born on November 11, 1950, in Kansas City, MO to Arthur “Glenn” and Doris Catherine Mae (Gregory) Stiverson.  She graduated in 1969 from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO.  Glenda and Larry Eugene Jones were united in marriage on June 18, 1988 in Independence, MO at Fairmount Christian Church. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2018.  Glenda worked at Electronic Business Solutions in scheduling for a few years, then she owned and operated Pearlie’s Crafts in Odessa and worked at Iva’s Tax Service.  After she and Larry got married, she mainly became a homemaker taking care of her home and family.  Glenda was a member of the First Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary Post 1000, and the VFW Auxiliary Post 5675.  She was very active with the church, Glenda was in the church choir, vacation bible school director for many years, Wednesday prayer meetings, women’s mission union, and she served on mission trips.  In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Glenda enjoyed crafting. 

 

Survivors include a brother, Clayton Ward Stiverson (Sharon) of Centerview, MO; five nieces, Penny Janine Stiverson (Summer) of Ogden, Utah, Elizabeth Catherine Baker (David Scott) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Rhonda Sue Rothman of Independence, MO, Melissa Rose Comstock of Missouri, and Heather Marie Yoder (Nathan) of Garden City, MO; great nieces and nephews, Brandon Lee Stiverson (Allison), US Navy-Oak Harbor, Washington, Alexander Scott Baker of Pleasant Hill, MO, Kyle Keith Comstock (Fiance, Brittany) of Clinton, MO, Amber Lynn Comstock of Missouri, Logan Ellis Yoder of Garden City, MO, and Adasyn Marie Yoder of Garden City, MO; four great-great nieces and nephews; two step children, Sherry Jones of Belton, MO and Brian Jones (Lisa) of Grain Valley, MO; five step grandchildren, Cassey Taylor, Sara McCubbins (Joel), Zach Taylor, Grant Jones, and Dylan Jones; seven step great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. 

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Glenda was preceded in death by a brother, Curtiss Alan Stiverson.
