Gary Allen Thomas, 70, of Lone Jack passed away June 28, 2022 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.  A memorial service will also be on Sunday at the funeral home at 2:00 pm.  Burial will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Friendless.  Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO  64067, 660-259-2245.

 

Gary was born August 6, 1951 in Lexington to Lawrence “Tucker” and Wanda (Comstock) Thomas.  He graduated from Lexington High School in 1969. Gary was a Chief Master Sergeant (E9) in the United States Air Force and spent his career as a calibration specialist.  Gary was a veteran of the Gulf War. He retired after 28 years.   He then worked as an electronic calibration laboratory manager as a government contractor for 10 years.  On December 28, 2007 he married Amelita Costanilla in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Gary was a drummer who loved classic rock and roll.  He enjoyed fishing and restoring classic cars. 

 

Gary is survived by his wife, of the home; two sons, Nic Thomas and wife Barb of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jeremy Thomas of Lone Jack; grandson, Bane Thomas; and brother, Doug Thomas and wife Lisa of Lone Jack.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Gail Hollis.
