Gary Elroy Maschmeier, 78, of Wellington, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at his home.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home. 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO 64067. A private committal service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association or VFW Post #4052. Gary was born on March 6, 1945, to Elroy and Norma (Hoffman) Maschmeier in Lexington, Missouri. He graduated from Wellington High School. After high school, Gary proudly served from 1968 to 1970 in the United States Army. While serving Gary earned The Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. Gary retired from Clark White Construction where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
On December 12, 1964, Gary was united in marriage to Sandra “Ann” Maschmeier in Lexington, Missouri.
Gary was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Free Church in Wellington, Missouri. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Gary was a member of the VFW Post #4052 and American Legion Post #134.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Ann Maschmeier; a son, Shawn Maschmeier and his wife, Stephanie, of Gainesville, GA; two grandchildren, Seth and Sara Maschmeier; one sister, Karen Smith; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by both his parents.
