Friedrich “Fritz” Johann Weber, Sr., 88 of Wellington, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Mary’s Ignite Care Center in Blue Springs, MO surrounded by his loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Ascend Hospice. Memorials may be mailed to the funeral home. Fritz was born on July 25, 1937, in Timisoara, Romania to Josef Thomas and Susanna (Karschti) Weber. He graduated high school in Germany. At the age of 19, Fritz’s family immigrated to the United States. On May 22, 1960, Fritz was united in marriage to Ellen Jane Floyd in New Haven, Connecticut. She preceded him in death in 2013. Fritz worked for many years as a carpenter for Advent Health and retired from Royal Fixtures in Kansas City, MO. He was member of the Seven Day Adventist Church. While in Germany, Fritz played for soccer clubs, and he carried that passion with him to the United States. Fritz has refereed many soccer games and was the occasional stats keeper for the Kansas City Comets. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Fritz enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Fritz is survived by two children, Linda (Rob) Riesmeyer of Wellington, MO and Friedrich “Fred” John Weber, Jr. and wife Mindy of Cour d’Alene, Idaho; four grandchildren, Friedrich “Eric” John Weber, III, Evan Riesmeyer, Jacob Weber, and Ellen Riesmeyer; one sister, Brigitte Kiesz and one brother, Ferdi (Joyce) Weber; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Fritz was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
