Odessa, Missouri

 

Earl D. Murry, 97 of Odessa, Missouri passed away at 6:40 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at home surrounded by family. 

 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church, 7995 Outer Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the church.  Interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or Three Rivers Hospice.  Memories of Earl and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Earl was the Son of Daniel and Georgia (Booker) Murry.  On September 23, 1944, he was united in marriage to Alline Cox in Olathe, Kansas.  Earl was a lover of country and gospel music.  He helped form three western bands where he played rhythm, steel guitar and fiddle.  He held many jobs working at the Odessa Ice Cream Factory, Town and Country Shoe, MO Public Service, A dude wrangler at Jakake Inn in Phoenix, Arizona, Managed Bear Trap Dude Ranch in Colorado, managed the Siesta Motel, restaurant, and service at Platte City, MO, supervisor for Day Baker School Bus, Owned and operated Murry Brothers Car Lot, and retired from Lake City Arsenal after 13 years, which was Olin Corp. at the time.  He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa, MO. 

 

Earl is survived by his wife of 78 years, Alline Murry; one son, David Alan Murry and wife Rene of Odessa, MO; five grandchildren, Jayden Lynn Robinson, Nathan Schwartze, Christian Crawford, Thomas Allen Cooper, and Brian Michael Gorski; four great-grandchildren, Lillian Kiona Beverly, Jameson Cooper, Athena Crawford, and Briella Schwartze; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Milfred, Eugene, and Kenneth; seven sisters, Esther Brockmeyer, Clydie Adams, Edna Grubb, Gracie Ailor, Bernice Barker, Elberta Brown, and Reba Owings; a granddaughter, Jennifer Murry, and a grandson, Chris Gorski.
