Doris Jean Nace

Doris “Jean” Jean (Ragar) Nace, 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri formerly of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Jean was born on May 4, 1937, to Roy and Amelia (Shaw) Ragar. In 1955, she graduated from Knob Noster High School. Jean tended and cared for the home most of her life. She worked for a very short period at Kansas City Life Insurance as a phone operator. Jean was united in marriage on November 23, 1955, to Ryland Wayne Nace in Sedalia, Missouri. Along with spending time with family and friends, Jean enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilting. Jean was an avid KU College Basketball fan. She knew the players and coaches by name and would be willing to give her opinion on who was playing well and who wasn't.

Jean is survived by her loving husband, Ryland Wayne Nace of the home, four children, Scott (Gail) Nace of Liberty, MO, Gale (Bill) Culp of Kansas City, MO, Jack (Lisa) Nace of Grain Valley, MO, and Sandi (John) Ludwig of Independence, MO; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother, Lee Roy (Allene) Ragar of Sedalia, MO; one sister-in-law, Brenda Ragar of Dalles, OR, and many nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

Along with both her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Myers, and two brothers, Bill Ragar and Gary Ragar.
