Donnie "Chief" Lee Jordan

Donnie “Chief” Lee Jordan, 93, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Tranquil Grove at Rotary Park Care Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

Donnie was a hardworking man, a devoted husband and father, a proud grandfather, and a friend to many. He lived a full and meaningful life, finding joy in his family, his faith, the outdoors, and the simple things that made life special.

Donnie was born on July 12, 1933, in Redland, Oklahoma, to Steven Jordan, Jr. and Susie (Lollis) Jordan. On December 22, 1951, he married the love of his life, Patsy Ruth Oakes, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they built a life and raised their family. Patsy preceded him in death on June 4, 2024. Donnie retired in 1984 after 30 years of dedicated service at the GM Leeds Plant in Kansas City, Missouri. Retirement did not slow him down. He turned his attention to farming and raising Black Angus cattle, work that brought him great pride and satisfaction. A faithful member of Concord Baptist Church and U.A.W. Local 93, Donnie was a man who valued his faith, his work, and the people around him. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for baseball and basketball, and he enjoyed fishing whenever he had the opportunity. Baseball was a lifelong passion for Donnie, and he continued playing baseball and softball in leagues well into his fifties.

Those who knew Donnie will remember his love of family, his hardworking spirit, his enjoyment of a good ballgame, and the many memories made simply by being together. His life touched many people, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Donnie is survived by his two children, Gary Don Jordan and wife, Delores, of Odessa, MO, and Sheryl Ann Withrow of Holden, MO; four grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Jordan of Pleasant Valley, MO, Jalah Rayann Jordan of Odessa, MO, Eric Ryan Withrow and wife, Holly, of Hot Springs, AR, and James Darrin Withrow of Holden, MO; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Mae Rogers of Ft. Smith, AR; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Patsy, Donnie was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Lee Jordan, Jr.; son-in-law, James “J.W.” Wade Withrow; three sisters, Anna Marie Wagers, Wanda Lou Ramsey, and Bonnie Sue Hyman; and two brothers, Billy Ray Jordan and Jerry Lee Jordan.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Concord Cemetery, 2899 Baptist Ln., Bates City, MO 64011.
