Donald “Don” Eugene Johnston, 62, of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri surrounded by his family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Machpelah Cemetery in Lexington, Missouri. Don was born on June 12, 1962, in Lexington, Missouri to Gary Paul and Judith Day (Ussery) Johnston. After graduating from Lexington High School, Don graduated from Rolla with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Don worked for many years as a plant manager for Pittsburg Corning. Along with spending time with family and friends, Don enjoyed spending time with his faithful canine companion Peaslee, horses, motorcycles, bird watching, and gardening.

Don is survived by his fiancée, Monica Nevels of Warrensburg, MO; one daughter, Tracia (Kyle) Smith of Farmington, MO; three step children, Emily Sundquist of Warrensburg, MO, Allison Abma of Springfield, MO, and Kayla Nevels of Castle Rock, MO; two grandchildren, Stephanie Wehmeyer and Lauren Smith; one brother, John (Joanne Owens) Johnston of Lexington, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Along with both his parents, Don was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Johnston; one sister, Patricia Johnston; and one brother, Scott Johnston.
