David Lloyd Ward Jr., 60, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Inurnment with Military Rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, 20109 Business Hwy 13, Higginsville, MO 64037. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project. Memories of David and condolences for his family may be left at www.ledfordfamilyfh.com or on our Facebook Page. Cremation has been entrusted to the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306, S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524.
David was born on January 8, 1959 in Connersville, Indiana to David Lloyd Ward Sr. and Martha (Revel) Ward. He graduated from Connersville High School in 1977. In March of 1991 David was united in marriage to Sandra Bransteitter. They later divorced but remained close friends. He retired from the Army National Guard after 19 years. Within that time he was part of Battery D, 1st Battalion, 129th Field Artillery Regiment. David also retired from Roots Blower Company in Connersville, IN after several years of employment. In addition to spending time with family and friends, David enjoyed golfing, bowling, and working on cars.
Survivors include his mother, Martha (Revel) Lindsey of Odessa, MO; two sons, David Lloyd Ward III and wife, Sarah of Greenwood, MO, and Aaron Ward of Odessa, MO; one sister, Connie Bates of Blue Springs, MO; three aunts, Nancy Seifert and husband, David of Connersville, IN, Barbara Shafer and husband, Charles of Richmond, IN, and Bonnie Revel of Lebanon, IN; and three nephews, Shane Corder, Samuel Ray and Toby Ray.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Lloyd Ward Sr.
