Born on May 25, 1945, in Independence, Missouri to Eugene and Eunice (Nickels) Jumet, David was a man whose life was a tapestry of hard work, kindness, and deep love for those around him.
David dedicated 36 years to his career as an electrician with the IBEW Local 124, a testament to his work ethic and skill. Beyond his professional life, he was a farmer and mechanic, embodying the values of diligence and resourcefulness. After retirement, he found joy in serving as a campground host in Wyoming during the summer months, sharing his warmth and hospitality with visitors. His days were filled with passions that spoke to his creative and practical nature—building hot rods, crafting model trains, capturing moments through photography, woodworking, camping, gardening, and tending to tractors and cars.
His memories were rich in the simple pleasures of life, especially traveling to the mountains, where he found peace and connection with nature. David’s kind and welcoming personality left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and he was deeply proud of the family he helped build with the love of his life. He married Joann Black on November 27, 1970, in Buckner, Missouri, a union that blossomed into a lasting partnership filled with love and mutual respect.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Eunice Jumet, and his brother Larry Jumet.
David’s greatest accomplishment was his family, a living legacy that includes his beloved wife, Joann (Black) Jumet; children Shane Jumet (Tammy), Mandi Holderieath (Jason), and Chad Jumet (Emily); grandchildren Douglas, Steven, Hannah, Aliya, Alexander, Kameron, Matthew; and seven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is dearly missed by all who knew him.
Though his passing leaves a profound void, those who loved David Eugene Jumet carry forward his spirit—the embodiment of hard work, love, and warmth—treasuring the memories made and the lessons learned from a life well lived.
