Connie Lee (Potter) Gossey, 72, of Buckner, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at St. Luke Evangelical Free Church, 700 MO-224, Wellington, Missouri 64097. A Celebration of Life and graveside service will follow at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memories of Connie and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com. Connie was born on May 29, 1952, to Robert and Mona Lou (Wilson) Potter in Lexington, Missouri. She graduated from Wellington-Napoleon High School in 1970. She was dedicated to caring for the home and her family. Connie was united in marriage to Douglas Gossey on April 4, 1987. Connie enjoyed cheering on the KC Chiefs, watching movies, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Connie is survived by two daughters, Julie (Mike) Akers and Ginger Smith; their father and her former husband, Paul Rutherford; four grandchildren, Sean Smith, Sierra Smith, Alea Akers, and Callee Akers; two stepdaughters, Kara Vento and Melea Duncan, and their families; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kent Potter; and her husband, Douglas Gossey.
