Clyde Ray Hill, 79, of Mayview, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 25, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

 

A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday February 4, 2023 at Odessa Restoration Branch, 6783 MO-131, Odessa, Missouri 64076.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to a charity of donor’s choice.  Memories of Clyde and condolences for his family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph O. Clyde was born June 26, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry Lewis and Marian Lorraine (Rady) Hill.  He graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO.  Clyde was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on June 22, 1965.  On December 21, 1974, Clyde was united in marriage to Opal Pauline Davis in Bates City, MO.  He retired after 36 years of service from Ford Motor Company, he was also a farmer.  Clyde was a member of the UAW Local 249 in Kansas City, MO.  He was Baptist by faith.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Clyde enjoyed playing the electric bass and the stand-up bass, pulling trucks, and going to Gavin’s Point Dam to camp. 

 

Clyde is survived by his wife of 48 years, Opal Pauline Hill of Mayview, MO; two daughters, Deborah Lea Warren and Lorraine Ghloe Deister and husband Paul, both of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, Kristi Loehr and husband Joshua, Devin Ray Warren, Dustin Eaton Warren, Dominic Nathanial Warren and wife Charlene, Joshua Edwin Woolridge and wife Amanda, Brenda Lea Hill, Nathaniel Levi Stephens, and Janessa May Baake and husband Eric; 20 great grandchildren; three sisters, Henrietta Marie Glossip of Independence, MO, Thelada Pearl Gibson of Belton, MO, and Cecilia Lynn Griffith and husband Scott of Lee’s Summit, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by two children, Saundra Lea Stephens and James Lewis Hill; and one grandchild, Jonathan Gibson.
