Cleffa Teresia Graceanolia Taylor (Johnson) was born on January 17, 1965 to the late Clifford Goodwin Johnson and Addie (Dollie) Lillis Shannon. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family in Lexington, Missouri. Cleffa’s passion for family was evident by her devotion to them. She drew from her Christian faith the duty of service to others. Cleffa’s hobbies included sewing, drawing, crocheting, writing poems, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Cleffa attended Lexington High School. Later in life she obtained her GED, CNA, CMT and State of Missouri Mental Health Certifications.
Cleffa was united in marriage to the late Gregory Allan Taylor. Cleffa is survived by her four children, LaTasha Pettis of Warrensburg, Amanda Taylor of Lexington, Tiffany Taylor of Warrensburg, and Amber Reed of Higginsville. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Marquez Briscoe of Grain Valley, Emrey Pettis of St. Louis, Te’Vion Taylor of Warrensburg, Shayla Kelly of Warrensburg and Isabella Draisey of Higginsville.
Cleffa is survived by nine siblings, Joyce (Pastor Leroy, deceased) Gilmore of Higginsville, Larry Moss Sr. of Lexington, Etheleen Nelson and Katheleen Poe of Warrensburg, Ethelyn (John, deceased) Taylor of Lexington, Cheryl (Alexander, deceased) Rayford of Lee’s Summit, Sandra Mason, John “Coolidge” (Jackie) Johnson and David (Carol) Moss all from Lexington. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Johnson; sister, Simone Johnson, and grandson, Aziel Reed.
Cleffa is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11:00 to noon at the Second Baptist Church, 1201 Main Street, Lexington, MO 64067. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington. Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamily FH.com.
