Carolyn Kay (Burns) Milligan, 74, of Lexington, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Northcare Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to Friends of the Friendless. Carolyn was born on January 28, 1951, in Lexington, Missouri to Clarence Ira and Anna Aileen (Simmerman) Burns. In 1969, she graduated from Lexington High School. Carolyn began a successful career as a telephone operator right after high school graduation. She retired after 34 years as a WFM Representative in Warrensburg, Missouri. On March 4, 1972, Carolyn was united in marriage to Larry Wayne Milligan. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2017. She was a member of the Senior Center. Carolyn’s whole world revolved around her precious dogs. If she wasn’t spoiling her dogs, Carolyn enjoyed flower gardening and going to the casino.
Carolyn is survived by her bonus son, Chad (Mandy) Thompson of Lexington, MO; bonus grandchildren, Drake Thompson of Lexington, MO and Kylie Thompson of Lexington, MO; and special friends, The Dye family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by both her parents, brother Clarence “Ray” Burns, and her husband.
