Carol Katherine Ainsworth

Carol Katherine (Abbott) Ainsworth, of Lexington, Missouri passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Ray County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, MO, 64067, 660-259-2245.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2023, at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.  Memories of Carol and condolences for her family may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com or on our Facebook Page. 

Carol was born on August 7, 1944, in Lexington, MO to Ernest “Ernie” H. and Caroline (McClintick) Abbott.  She graduated in 1962 from Lexington High School in Lexington, MO.  Carol was united in marriage to Harold Thomas “Tom” Ainsworth, Jr. on August 31, 1963, in Henrietta, MO.  She was a homemaker who cared for her family and home.  Carol attended First Baptist Church of Knob Noster.  In addition to spending time with family and friends, Carol spent her life caring for, and in service of, others.  She enjoyed crafts and painting, and dining with close friends. 

Carol is survived by her husband, Harold Thomas “Tom” Ainsworth, Jr. of Lexington, MO; two sons, Troy Ainsworth and wife Kristin of Concordia, MO and Trent Ainsworth and wife Carrie of Higginsville, MO; daughter-in-law, Beth Ainsworth of Lexington, MO; seven grandchildren, Christian Ainsworth, Michael Ainsworth, Craig Ainsworth, Paige Ainsworth, Andrew Ainsworth, Maddie Pummill and husband Jaycee, and Bubba Ainsworth; four great-grandchildren, Ayden Hamer, Abel Hamer, Charlotte Ainsworth, and Delilah Pummill; and many relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a son, Todd Ainsworth; and a brother, Larry Abbott.
